Insta360’s new viewfinder accessory for its Go 3S action camera attempts to revive the nostalgic experience of using a classic film camera. However, it falls short due to design flaws and limitations. The $47.99 Retro Viewfinder is part of a growing trend in the tech industry: rebranding existing products with nostalgia-tinged accessories.

The Go 3S itself has been available since June 2024, offering improved specs over its predecessor while retaining its compact size. Its small form factor makes it suitable for mounting on helmets or other hard-to-reach places where a traditional camera wouldn’t be practical.
