Kau Kee's First Retail Store Opens After 66 Years

The Unseen Giant of Hong Kong's Food Scene For decades, Kau Kee Food Factory has been a behind the scenes player in Hong Kong's culinary scene.

With 66 years under its belt, this family owned business has supplied fish balls to nearly 1,000 eateries and snack stalls across the city. However, until recently, its products were unknown to the general public.

That changed when second generation owner Anita Lee opened Kau Kee's first retail store in Mong Kok last December. Lee's decision to take charge of the family business during the pandemic was motivated by necessity.
